Laboratories and research |
Instruments and chemicals, Educational instruments, Sampling and using the boat Some of the lab equipment and educational instruments need to be specially requested on the "reservation form". There is no boat for private use. Sampling for laboratory experiments and demonstration of sampling equipment should be reserved in advance and arranged with Center employees. Work in the lake and on the dock platform is prohibited on Sundays and holidays. Use of equipment and collaborator

CHF 200 half-day allowance for CBA staff made available. Single scientists As the Center is regularly visited by single scientists, they have to be able to conduct their experiments in the labs of building A. Accommodation, however, will be in building C.

Ending of the course
Before leaving all rooms have to be cleaned and the keys returned. The building must be empty by 12:00. For organizational purposes (group rotations) departure times from Center need to be respected; if this is not possible, please contact the secretary. You will find an "End of course Form" (necessary for billing purposes) that needs to be filled out by the head of the course and left in the attendance book. It is possible to buy fresh milk and butter at the building of the Alpe Piora , July-August (phone +41 91 868.13.25) Buildings B and C contain a fully equipped kitchen each for 25-30 participants. Food has to be organized by the cours participants

Location Located in the Alps on the Gotthard massif in Ticino Val Piora, at 1960 m above sea level, the CBA is open from mid-June to late September. Travel information - by train to Airolo and post van to Piotta, cablecar Ritom, walking to the Center (1 hour 15 min.)
- by car to Piora (parking space), cablecar ritom, walking to Center
- by train to Airolo and bus to Cadagno, upon reservation at Trasporti Marchetti, Airolo (phone +41 91 873.30.33)
- by private car to Cadagno, only allowed between 17:00 and 9:00 from the dam to Cadagno, parking space Cadagno (parking meter).
The blocking time given above for the road between dam and Cadagno has to be absolutely observed. It is NOT possible to make exceptions ! Parking All vehicles must be parked at the parking space near the restaurant Canvetto del Carletto in Cadagno, one car at the best may be left at the center. Key Picked up will be communicate directly by secretariat (lending fee CHF 50.-). |
